Info Session: Special Needs Financial Planning with Joshua Gonzales

Event Description:

We are pleased to invite our community to an upcoming Info Session on Special Needs Planning, presented by Joshua A. Gonzalez, AEP®, CFP®, ChSNC®.

Josh is a financial professional whose practice includes helping families with loved ones with intellectual and developmental disabilities navigate the financial and estate-planning decisions that can affect their loved one's long-term security. As a Chartered Special Needs Consultant® (ChSNC®), Certified Financial Planner™ professional (CFP®), and Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®), he brings specialized professional training to these issues.

He also brings the perspective of a parent. Josh's son is on the autism spectrum, and his own family spent years navigating misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis, the IEP process, and the challenge of securing appropriate special-education services. That experience gives him a personal appreciation for how overwhelming it can be for families to understand the many different systems they encounter.

During this web-based information session, Josh will present educational material designed to help parents and caregivers understand some of the fundamental building blocks of special needs planning, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, ABLE accounts, and Special Needs Trusts—and, importantly, how these different resources can fit together as families plan for the future.

The goal is not to turn parents into financial or legal experts. It is to give families a clearer vocabulary, a better understanding of the planning landscape, and a foundation for asking the right questions of the professionals who support them.

We hope you will join us for this informative and practical conversation.
