About DSANV

Who We Are

At the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia, we are a community built on connection, advocacy, and possibility. Our mission is to empower individuals with Down syndrome and their families through education, resources, and meaningful opportunities that support growth at every stage of life. We believe every person has unique strengths and gifts, and we are committed to helping our community members thrive, belong, and be celebrated for who they are.

Our work is grounded in partnership - with families, educators, professionals, and community organizations - to create inclusive spaces where individuals with Down syndrome can learn, develop skills, build relationships, and pursue their goals. From early childhood through adulthood, we strive to provide programs and support that foster confidence, independence, and joy.

Above all, we are a community that shows up for one another. Whether you are a new parent seeking guidance, a self-advocate pursuing your dreams, or a supporter who believes in inclusion, you belong here. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive future for all.

The DSANV 2025-2030 strategic plan guides how we expand programs, reach families, and build a more inclusive Northern Virginia for individuals with Down syndrome.
