Toilet training is an incredibly complex and often frustrating process for families. Join us in this virtual information session, Dr. Lina Patel will review the medical, physical, behavioral, emotional, and environmental factors that impact children with Down syndrome more significantly. Participants will learn practical strategies to address these challenges and leave with the tools to create an individualized toilet training plan for their child
About the Speaker
Lina Patel, PsyD, is a Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and a clinician at Children’s Hospital Colorado. She leads the Down Syndrome Behavioral Health Collaborative and directs Neurodevelopmental Assessment at the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome. Dr. Patel is a renowned speaker and coauthor of the parent-friendly guide, “Potty Time for Kids with Down Syndrome: Lose the Diapers, Not Your Patience.”
