Event Description:

Dave's Place is a transformative independent living weekend retreat (3 days and 2 nights) aimed at improving essential life skills for individuals with Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities in a supportive and immersive environment.

Dave’s Place is reserving two weekends for members of the DSANV community! The Women’s Retreat will take place April 9-11 and a Men’s Retreat will be May 14-16.

This experience will consist of a variety of daily living activities that promote independent thinking and problem-solving skills development. These activities will be based on the self-assessment provided to our staff by the families, individual goals determined in each applicant’s pre-admission interview, and the needs of other participants who will be attending the same weekend.  The schedule and curriculum will vary from weekend to weekend based on the needs of the participants. 

Each Dave's Place weekend will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday and culminate at 2:00 pm on Sunday. Transportation to and from the facility will be the participant's responsibility.  We will help facilitate carpools if possible.
