We Are Growing! ~ Introducing Anne Custer (REC)

We are excited to introduce Anne Custer, one of our newest Regional Engagement Coordinators (RECs) at DSANV!

Anne brings with her a deep passion for building community and creating spaces where individuals with Down syndrome and their families feel supported, connected, and valued. Like many in our community, her journey with DSANV began on a personal note. In 2020, after her youngest daughter received a birth diagnosis of Down syndrome, Anne found her way to DSANV and quickly connected with a network of families who shared both the joys and challenges of raising a child with an extra chromosome.

That sense of connection and belonging is what now drives Anne’s work. She believes strongly in the power of community and is dedicated to helping families build meaningful relationships and find their place within DSANV.

Before stepping into her role as a full-time mom of three, Anne spent more than a decade covering U.S. news for an international media organization, including time as a White House correspondent. She also brings leadership experience from her involvement in her church community, where she led a group for mothers, and continues to stay active through volunteering at her children’s schools.

When she’s not busy supporting her family or connecting with others in the community, Anne enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring the rich cultural offerings of the Washington, D.C. area.

We are so grateful to have Anne as part of the DSANV team and look forward to the impact she will make in helping families feel connected, supported, and empowered.

💙 Please join us in welcoming Anne!
