Have you heard about the Rappahannock Miracle League?!

The Rappahannock Miracle League is a proud branch of The Miracle League®, a non-profit founded in 1998 in Conyers, Georgia, to give individuals with disabilities the chance to play baseball. With over 300 organizations across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico, the League has helped more than 200,000 children and adults with disabilities to participate in America’s favorite pastime. By providing custom-designed fields, volunteer support, and an inclusive spirit, The Miracle League® ensures that every player, regardless of ability, experiences the joy of the game.

The Rappahannock Miracle League (RML) was founded by Jada Fields and Courtney Bishop to create opportunities for their son and stepson, Koby. After Koby graduated high school, they sought ways for him to connect with peers and stay active but found few options for individuals with disabilities. Determined to make a change, they established the RML so athletes of all abilities could come together to play sports, form friendships, and enjoy team camaraderie. Today, at 20 years old, Koby serves as the honorary Community Engagement Coordinator for the RML, embodying the spirit of inclusion and community that drives their mission.

Our Executive Director, Heather, enjoyed a call with RML’s Executive Director, Jada, to learn more about their mission and hear how we could further support our Fauquier County families.
