Charlotte Woodward Organ Transplant Discrimination Prevention Act
We're thrilled to announce the reintroduction of one of NDSS’ top legislative priorities - the 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘼𝙘𝙩 in the 119th Congress! This legislation seeks to 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 against individuals with disabilities who are seeking life-saving organ transplants. No one should be denied access to the healthcare they need because of their disability.
Named in honor of DSANV's Charlotte Woodward, NDSS program associate and transplant recipient, this bill is a critical step toward ensuring 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for all Americans. Charlotte was at the Capitol yesterday celebrating the reintroduction of her bill with Congresswoman Kat Cammack and Congresswoman Debbie Dingell.
