POSITION: Director of Development
STATUS: exempt/30 hours per week
COMPENSATION: $50,000 annual; (plus eligibility for bonus dependent exceeding financial targets)
REPORTS TO: DSANV Board of Directors
LOCATION: 10467 White Granite Drive, Suite 320, Oakton, Virginia and remotely
EFFECTIVE: ASAP
Work Schedule: Thirty hours per week; flexible schedule with some hours required during standard business hours to facilitate working with other staff; telework options with approval
Travel: Local travel as required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Business Development is responsible for organizing, managing, and executing fundraising events for DSANV including but not limited to Buddy Walk (each October) and the annual 5K (each May) and other fundraising events as may be specified by the Board of Directors. The Director of Business Development is responsible for engaging current and prospective members, donors, sponsors and grantors to maintain and increase the total amount of donations made to DSANV on an annual basis. The Director of Business Development will be evaluated by the Board based on the results of development activities – e.g. grants awarded, meeting and exceeding financial goals for fundraising activities. Bonus eligibility will be based on results of fundraising/grant writing efforts (e.g. funds raised exceeding targeting fundraising goals in a calendar year)
