Core Strength Workshop

Core strength is foundational to a huge range of daily activities and it is a common area of weakness for individuals with Down syndrome. Join us for a educational presentation on the importance of core strength followed by interactive activities to learn how to work with your child in everyday settings to improve core strength. This workshop is aimed at the parents of children who are elementary aged and older.

Core strength is foundational to a huge range of daily activities and it is a common area of weakness for individuals with Down syndrome.  Join us for a educational presentation on the importance of core strength followed by interactive activities to learn how to work with your child in everyday settings to improve core strength.  This workshop is aimed at the parents of children who are elementary aged and older.  Please register early;  a minimum number of registrants is required for us to offer this session.

The Presenter:  Dr. Megan McIntyre, PT, DPT

Dr. McIntyre is a local pediatric physical therapist. She graduated from Shenandoah University in 2015 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and immediately began developing a pediatric program based out of a Select Physical Therapy clinic in Lansdowne, VA. Recently Dr. McIntyre started her own clinic called Milestone Pediatric Therapy in Winchester, VA. Dr. McIntyre specializes in treatment of torticollis, gross motor delay, and coordination disorders. Dr. McIntyre has always had a passion for working with children and loves that her career lets her help so many children and families on a daily basis.
