Join us to jump start shoe tying!  Parents will receive a brief overview from an Occupational Therapist in the ways to support shoe tying skills, prerequisite skills, and some of the best approaches to supporting this life skill.   At the same time, kids are working with volunteers to build their very own shoe tying practice board and build enthusiasm for tackling this tough skill!  The final 30 minutes of the session will allow for parents to practice hand-over-hand support and guidance with their child under the guidance of the volunteer Occupational Therapists from the Exceptional Children's Center.  We will also have an array of some of the available shoe tying alternatives so that you can see if they might be an option for your child.
