We invite you to join Congressmen Frank Wolf, Jim Moran, and Tom Davis in raising money and awareness by becoming a sponsor in the Fourth Annual Special Olympics/Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia (DSANV) Golf Tournament. The Tournament will take place on Monday, May 19th 2008 at the Golf Club at Lansdowne in Leesburg, Virginia at 9:00 AM.

Special Olympics in Northern Virginia is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities through sport. DSANV is also a non-profit, charitable and educational organization created to ensure that all individuals with Down syndrome and their families receive the support necessary to participate in, contribute to, and achieve fulfillment of their life in their community. Both organizations have joined together to create a special event to support athletes and families in the Northern Virginia community. We need your financial support to carry out our vital missions of improving the lives of persons with disabilities.

For our athletes, the training never stops and the benefits last a lifetime. A 1995 Yale University study proved it: Special Olympics athletes do better at school, at work and at home than their peers not involved in our year-round sports program. We like to call it "Training for Life" - providing persons with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to become physically fit, develop cooperation and social skills, and increase their self-esteem, all while competing in an Olympic-type sports program.

The money raised in this tournament will help our athletes and families to keep believing in themselves and become vital contributors to the Northern Virginia community.
