We are now accepting applications to the 2010-2011 Learning Program, an educational program that teaches parents to be effective "first-teachers" for their children with Down syndrome and prepares children for success in school. DSANV's Education Committee led a pilot version of this program in 2009-2010, and are pleased to continue with a full program this coming school year.
Members of DSANV are encouraged to apply for our DSANV scholarships, camperships and durable medical goods programs. The 2010 applications were mailed to all members in the Spring and are attached here for your convenience.
Scholarships:
A sideways glance. A look across the room. A long thoughtful gaze that says “I want to know you”. Eyes say it all! Don’t miss 12 months worth of the most beautiful eyes in Northern Virginia. The photographers of The 2010 Down Syndrome Association of Northern VA calendar have outdone themselves to bring you this great opportunity to experience the eyes that tell us what a wonderful world it really is.
The calendars are $10 each plus $2.24 for shipping. To purchase more than 1 calendar, please contact calendars@dsanv.org.
The author of a new book (released on September 1) has generously selected DSANV to receive the royalties from its sales. Madonna Dries Christensen, the author, is a friend of our organization so we wanted to let our members know.
For the first time, the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia is listed on the Combined Federal Campaign. Our number is 54529.
For those of you who give to the Campaign through work, through payroll donations, or however, we would greatly appreciate your listing us.
